Utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) in
libraries has greatly advanced library’s operation to be automated base.
This arouses the need for new computer skills and amount of benefits to
be in place. Automation system as one of the significant changes in the
new trend of libraries plays a vital role toward actualizing the mandate

against the afore mentioned, that this study assesses the influence of
Perceived Usefulness(PU) adopted from Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)
and Computer Knowledge(CK) on automation system adoption by academic
libraries in Bauchi state. The study adopted cross sectional survey as
its research design and 199copies of structured questionnaire
